Mr. Giuffreda is the senior partner in the firm and his practice includes police liability defense at both the trial court and appellate court levels in both federal and state court. He has extensive trial and appellate experience beginning with his position as an Assistant State Attorney in Broward County, Florida in 1987. He entered private practice in 1992, and has devoted his legal services to defending law enforcement agencies, currently representing numerous sheriffs throughout South Florida in cases involving federal civil rights litigation and related state tort claims. Mr. Giuffreda has tried in excess of one hundred fifty jury trials, numerous bench trials, and he has also conducted oral argument before the 2nd and 3rd District Courts of Appeals in Florida, as well as the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in both Georgia and Florida. Mr. Giuffreda’s practice includes the defense of auto accident claims, premises liability claims, negligence claims and intentional tort claims. Additionally, Mr. Giuffreda is a former adjunct professor at Broward Community College (Broward College) who taught constitutional law and evidence/courtroom procedure for seventeen years. He has lectured at various CLE seminars relating to police liability issues.
